Can you give the gift of your time?

Here at Tarporley Hospital we have a fantastic range of volunteering opportunities to suit everyone. It’s a great way to develop new skills, meet some brilliant people.

Below are some of the volunteer roles that we have available at the Hospital, however, if you have a particular skill that we can utilise, then we would love to hear from you.

Day Services Support – Here at Tarporley    Hospital, we offer a great Day Care service for older  people,  whereby they can make friends  socialise and  engage with different activities. Day Care runs every  Tuesday, Wednesday and  Thursday, from 10a.m. –  3p.m.

Events – As Tarporley Hospital is a charity, we hold a  number of fundraising events throughout the year, and we also have people and companies who will raise money for us. From our annual Christmas Concert to Garden Parties, Quiz nights to Summer Fayres. So we are always on the lookout for people who could spare an hour or two to help out, either with a collection bucket, manning a stall, representing the Hospital at an event, and generally be a point of contact for the public. We can provide a calendar of events so you can plan ahead.

Gardening – Tarporley Hospital has some lovely grounds, and vegetable patches, (not to mention a few pesky rabbits!) that are in constant need of maintenance. So, working as part of a team, help with the upkeep, development and protection of the garden and grounds, so that they can be enjoyed by our patients and their families. You can pledge as much or as little time as you wish.

Hospitality – Ensure that all patients are provided with refreshments and hot beverages. There are morning, afternoon and evening slots available. Our patients love to see a friendly face and like a good chat over a cup of tea or coffee.

Reception – Be the first point of call for all visitors,  answer the main switchboard, take messages and carry  out basic administrative  tasks. Reception is open  Monday to Friday and  there are morning and afternoon    slots  available.

All volunteering roles are offered after certain checks have been made. If you would like to volunteer, but are uncertain at what you would enjoy, then please call the volunteer coordinator on 01829 732436.

We do also offer volunteer places for students who are either exploring a career in the health care profession, who are completing their Duke of Edinburgh award, or who have an interest in volunteering. We can fit in around school timetables and any other work to the best of our availability.
